The number of County Court claims lodged in Q2 of 2024 was a total of 414,000 claims. The overwhelming majority of these (88%) were for money and damages. The time taken for small claims to go to trial averaged 50.6 weeks, whereas for multi/fast track claims, it was nearly a year and a half.*

This prolonged time period of unresolved disputes can be a substantial hindrance for SMEs, impacting their operational efficiency and financial stability.
